Love.

(Not mine, from Pinterest)

Because to me, I love you isn’t an invitation for me to pick and choose the parts of you I admire or tolerate or despise. I love you, is a complete and full statement of the acceptance of your entire being, by mine. I love you doesn’t exist in your eyes or your smile or the clothes you wear. It has nothing to do with the way you laugh or speak or do your hair. It is the joy, the gratitude, the divinity I acquire from your simple existence. Your company. Your thoughts. Our joined — and yet rich with individuality — entity. Even if you change, my love for your being will not. Because your change, if made by your sound, mindful and unbiased being, is a reflection of your innate actuality. It is you. And thus, my love for it will never end.

The love I have is not dependent on the way your body curves against mine, or the way our hands melt into one-another, or how you saw of me as a child. Love cannot reduce us because we are already whole, we were whole before we met, and we will continue to be for long after we forget each other’s faces. But I’d like to share the love I have, for you, with you, for as long as you’ll have me.

p.s : Most of the things I write start with either ‘And’ or ‘Because’, once I finish writing I usually delete the first word. This is because, when I write, I don’t immediately start penning down my thoughts, I go through a long intense and deep conversation with myself first. ‘Love.’ is a strand of that conversation, only 1 part. It starts with ‘because’, because it’s the part I choose to share. Not a complete thought. I don’t want to cut short my ideas, while also wanting to provide the space for you, the readers to continue this conversation with yourself. So I chose not to remove the ‘Because’ in the beginning. I hope you think about what love is to you, and what comes before the because for you.

With Love, Giaa ❤
