Ways to be happier in Lockdown!!!
Hi everybody! It’s me again (my name is Giaa), so today in online school we had to discuss mental health & list a few ways of having BETTER mental health. So, I was listing them & I realized that these are not only ways of getting better mental health but ALSO ways of being HAPPIER in lockdown (Thus the name)! Anyway, So I decided that I would list a few of the things I put in the “ways to have better mental health” topic in this list so… ENJOY!
1. — Reduce the time you are on ur device
I can’t even START on how IMPORTANT this is, let’s just say that if you do this, then you will be able to make time for EVERYTHING on this list! Plus, you won’t have headaches & your stress will likely decrease!
2. — Find time for yourself & understand WHO YOU ARE
I have understood over the years, that whenever you ask someone this question… the first thing that comes to their head & later their reply is their name. So, please do not say “ oh, I’m _____” (the blank is your name) because that’s NOT what I mean. I mean WHO IS YOUR PERSONALITY! Your name is just a way of calling you but your SOUL & your PERSONALITY is the Actual you. Finding time for you & ONLY you is super important in the lockdown & even after the lockdown… this is CRITICAL to have a super happy, super nice life.
3. — Do things that make YOU happy!
This is something that is 1 of the most important steps or things to do on this list EVER because, if you are not doing what you like (do NOT count school that is MANDATORY) there is no point of doing it AT ALL! Like a very wise person once said: “if you are not growing, you are dying”. In this case… the first half refers to the fact that if you do not like what you are doing, you are not growing as a person or in intellect. Thus, take some time out during the day, or do the job you love with the SAME passion that you had when you wanted to do the job you now have! (This sentence also refers to all of the things that you are doing that you used to love or do not love, YOU have to make it fun… the others can’t do if FOR you!)
4. — Go for a run or jog!
I don’t know about all of you but from my experience… after I run, jog or walk & I sweat, I come home & do some stretches. And after that… I feel GREAT! And coming from a person who hates to exercise, that is a big thing. I feel great about the fact that I could push myself to do that & I feel way more energetic! Also, have a bath after you come back because hygiene is super important no offence to people who don’t. On a cold day, this would be Ideal!
5. — Get good sleep!
I can’t even tell you how important this is, having good sleep is a HUGE add on to your health. It helps you be more active during the day & even if you have a short 25-minute nap, you will feel super energetic & super great! This will also help you function better!
6. — Drink a lot of water!
Drinking about 3–4 litres of water every day is GREAT for your body & will make you a lot more healthy. DO NOT drink all the water at once & drink a LOT of the water at once because that can upset the body’s sodium balance, and cause a potentially fatal condition called hyponatremia, or water intoxication. This will also rid you of most of the headaches you might have!
7. — If you are feeling sad… CRY!
Yes, you saw right… if you are feeling sad… CRY! Why cry? because what good is it to hold emotions in us that will further bring us down (just don’t start a fight that will just add on the stress you might have), right? I mean, if you are bottling in emotions that will just make being in quarantine a WHOLE LOT WORSE! Trust me, you’ll feel a lot better if you cry. Also, if you are the reason you are crying, like if you are not perfect, or you think you are not beautiful or you need to change yourself because of the way that OTHERS treat you… That’s not true! You should NEVER change yourself because of the way that other’s treat you or if THEY think that you need to change, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! You just need to OWN who you are & NOT CARE!!! NOBODY can be positive ALL the time!
8. — Make NEW non-toxic friends!!!
It doesn’t matter if you have work or school, you will ALWAYS have that 1 friend who is SO toxic that sometimes you feel like punching them in the face. So, don’t allow THEIR negativity to ruin YOUR moment or day! YOU ARE SPECIAL!! And you deserve THE WORLD (not in like a ruling way but a phrase really)!!! Having Non-Toxic friends will (believe it or not) help with your Health, Sleep, Mood (duh) & What kind of person you are! If you are having troubles with people who you think are Toxic… just don’t be their friend, It’ll help & make your life a LOT easier& make your relationships with other people (NON- toxic people) STRONGER!!
9. — Love yourself & don’t care about what OTHER people say!
Like I mentioned throughout the previous ways to be happy, don’t care about what OTHER’s say… because it’s basically their job to talk about someone else, be it good OR bad! You just have to ignore them & do what YOU do. I also have mentioned before that you need to LOVE & ACCEPT yourself as who you are before people love you or before you change yourself for others. YOU ARE ENOUGH. You just need to believe & stand STRONG!
10. — Start working towards YOUR goal!
This is necessary if you want to have a happy, healthy beautiful life. Whether your goals are related to your work, school, education, body, health, skills, or anything else. It’s important to take action, if you don’t you won’t achieve what you want or need! So, think about what you TRULY want & think hard… make it your goal & take action!! To make this step easier… Make a Vision Board! this will help you because you will VISUALLY see what you want from your life & thus you will achieve it quicker! (If you don’t know what a vision board is or don’t know how to make one… you can find MULTIPLE tutorials online & you can even just search up how they look to get a better idea. BTW each one is different)
Okay, That’s all for ways to be happier in lockdown but I have already started working on part 2 of this so there are more ways to be happier in lockdown but I hope these 10 helped. Lockdown hopefully is going to end soon because the vaccine is already out but even if it doesn’t at least you’ll be happy!
